A quick stop at Katsura Grill, Japan Pavilion, Epcot

Katsura Grill in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot has long been a favorite of ours – especially back before we moved to the Lake Buena Vista area… back then, it was pretty much an “always do” when we’d vacation at Walt Disney World. The udon is consistently good and the beer is consistently cold.

bluezoo – new cocktails, ravioli and otoro

This dining experience took place on February 21, 2014

I’ll get to the food in a moment, the drinks menu at the bluezoo lounge has undergone a periodic transformation (note: the dining room menu is expecting to change before the end of March)… So, of course, since a night at bluezoo starts with

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Florida Fresh Watermelon Salad

We had originally said that we weren’t interested in any of the food at the Florida Fresh Outdoor Kitchen, however, on a recent Sunday’s visit to Epcot, we found ourselves craving “salad”… So, watermelon salad, here we come!

Watermelon Salad with Pickled Onions, BW Farm Baby Arugula, Feta Cheese and Balsamic Reduction

The feta was

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2014 – Taste of Marrakesh Lamb Brewat Roll

We only tried one item from Taste of Marrakesh at last year’s Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival (spiced lamb kebab with vegetable couscous salad), it was pretty pitiful and disappointing because we typically LOVE lamb. We were so disappointed, that we just didn’t even try the booth during the Epcot International Food & Wine

Turf Club for Dinner at Saratoga Springs

After my Swedish Massage at Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs, I went to meet Nick at The Turf Club. It’s been years since we’ve been here, it had been a favorite of ours for lunch (easy to get into and the food was quite good) – when we stopped staying “on property” and they stopped

Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs – Swedish Massage

This is a bit of a compare and contrast to the Swedish Massage I had at Mandara Spa in the Dolphin Resort… In a nutshell, Senses at Saratoga Springs was nicer than Mandara and the massage was much better too.

The whole experience started out a bit stressful (my fault entirely) – I thought my

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2014 – Lotus House Spring Pancake

Last year, we had the Spring Pancake twice… the first time, it was pretty “sorry” – the second time, it was improved.

Spring Pancake from Lotus House 2014 (with a side dabble of Srircha Sauce)

So far in 2014, our reviews on this item are mixed…

the pancake wasn’t greasy as it had

Mighty Irish Festival at Raglan Road – Lunch Demonstration by Chef Kevin Dundon

So by now you know that we’re fans of Kevin Dundon and fans of Raglan Road Pub at Downtown Disney. And, in recent years, as Kevin has done more special events (outside of the signature dinner during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival), we’ve not been able to make it work with our schedules… In

A Swedish Massage at Mandara Spa, Dolphin Resort

I returned to Mandara Spa at the Dolphin Resort for another massage, this time I had a Swedish massage.

This differed from the Balinese massage in that there was more pressure and no aromatherapy component.

I thought that the Swedish massage was more to my liking. Ashley (my therapist) found some “peas” (a.k.a. trigger points)
