I like pork, especially pulled pork. Thus when I saw the pulled pork slider at the Hawaii booth I knew I had to try it.
Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise
In a word, yummy. The pork was moist and had just a few red pepper flakes to add a bit of spice. It was not over-sauced with mayo (that would have ruined it). Although I didn’t expect much from the pineapple chutney, it complemented the pork well. The roll was soft and fresh. The cooks had numerous opportunities to fail with this pork slider but they pulled it off very, very well.
Even though I have lots more items to sample, I will be trying another of these. All in the name of research of course. I need to be sure the quality and taste is just as good on the second try…
