As this is the end of the 2012 Christmas holidays*, I am wrapping up our photo tour of Walt Disney World. Today we visit Downtown Disney where I learned that the holiday events actually have a name – “Festival of the Seasons”.
There were several spots set-up for family photos; the seasonal ones had the “Festival of the Seasons” signs…
Of course, near the year-round Christmas store at Downtown Disney, “Disney’s Days of Christmas” (not a very original name), there are two places for family Christmas photos 365 days a year.
But many children and adults queue up at this house to get a photo with the jolly fat man.
I always like the pots of flowers and water feature at the entrance to the marketplace. Adding a Santa hat to Mickey makes it part of the holiday decorations.
There was one decoration that was whimsical and maybe nonsensical?
We saw these fern and poinsettia “trees” in many places at Walt Disney World this year. I like them.
There was a cool tree near Fulton’s Crab House that I never got a photo of when lit (sorry).
Of course there were trees nearly everywhere…
The primary tree was in front of Earl of Sandwich.
There were several window displays but these caught my attention the most.
2012 Festival of the Seasons at Downtown Disney had the largest variety of wreaths that I saw in one place. And I am only going to show a sampling of the variety.
Finally, many people wonder what the largest wreath is at Walt Disney World. We told you in an earlier post that “officially” the Mickey shaped 3 part wreath on the end of the Contemporary Resort is the largest. But it is three parts. The largest wreath of a single circle is actually near the top of the Cirque du Soleil tent. This wreath is 30 feet diameter.
We hope you have enjoyed the holiday photos from Walt Disney World. We have tried to show you some things you may not have seen before. That is part of our goal – getting beyond the typical theme park day. Let us know what you liked best or even least. All comments are welcome and feedback will help us improve. Don’t be shy – we know we have many readers “lurking” out there. 🙂
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and best wishes for a healthy and successful 2013 to everyone!

*Many Christians around the world annually celebrate Epiphany on January 6. It is a public holiday in many countries and marks two events in Jesus Christ’s life, according to the Christian Bible. The first event was when the three wise men, or kings, visited infant Jesus. The second event was when St John the Baptist baptized Jesus. January 6, which is 12 days after Christmas in the Gregorian calendar, marks not only the end of the Christmas holidays but also the start of the Carnival season, which climaxes with Mardi Gras.
