Part of our intent in going over to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival on a Sunday evening was to see Christopher Cross Eat to the Beat Concert – we stopped for adult beverages at Hawaii as we were walking in (most of the beer went into the trash can) and headed up toward Japan and America. As we were a bit early (because we didn’t plan to actually SIT in the American Garden Theater) and we’d heard good things about the Shrimp Cerviche at Florida Local (thanks again to Sarah at EatingWDW), we thought we’d give it a try.
This was surprisingly good! The shrimp were tender and the sauce was like a light slightly spicy salsa. Now, while this isn’t WOW like some shrimp dishes we’ve had in the past (not at Food & Wine though, this is probably the BEST Marketplace shrimp dish we’ve had at any of the 12 Epcot Food & Wine Festivals we’ve attended) – this was so good that we would eat it again.
If this were being served at a cabana bar at a gulf coast beach – oh yes, we’d be eating this again.
Just for fun, we also had the Cigar City Brewing Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale with the shrimp cerviche. It was fruitier than the Kona we had from Hawaii and better, but it still wasn’t “good”. That being said, it paired well with the shrimp – just wasn’t to our taste as “beer”…
