Can’t get enough of our ramblings? There’s more on FlipBoard (you can get the app for your iPhone and/or your iPad here) where we’re “Adults Exploring Disney World” or “Adults Extra Walt Disney World Magic” and on twitter where we’re @extrawdwmagic…
Links to our posts from the past week…
- We finally found something that we liked quite a bit at the Flower and Garden Festival… Chirashi at Hanami (Japan)
- We visited Tutto Gusto again, it was our first visit back since last May (here and here), although the menu has changed dramatically, we enjoyed it thoroughly
From the ether…
- Although it’s not one of our favorites, the Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a huge favorite with some of our friends… the disneyfoodblog recently posted the recipe
- Imagineering Disney really caught nora’s attention in the last few weeks…
- Mitch went to Magic Kingdom and quizzed cast members on their Disney World knowledge… funny and sad
- As fans of Walt Disney World (and fans who have strong engineering backgrounds), we’re always intrigued by the history of WDW and especially the history that’s related to the construction of WDW… here’s a rare look at the construction of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom
- And lastly, Mitch shows us all how he constructed a miniature model of the Jungle Cruise for his home office… nora’s always been fascinated by miniatures but thankfully has never pursued the hobby (she has enough hobbies already)
- For those who’ve been missing beer, bars, and drinking at Walt Disney World
- The Disney Hipster Blog has a review of TouringPlans‘ e-guide to Walt Disney World Bars & Lounges (a review from us is likely in the near future)
- Drinking Disney has a list of great places to grab a beer (this should come in handy during Harry & Sandy’s visit this week)
- And the last beer related post is from beersandears.net… in keeping with the March Madness bracket theme that’s popped up EVERYWHERE and for EVERYTHING (ex: Garden & Gun did Southern Food Brands … Krispy Kreme won!)… The 2013 Disney Beer Tournament Champion is Unibroue La Fin du Monde (a particular favorite of nora’s, we even attended a Unibroue dinner at the Wave back in November)
- Sarah at EatingWDW reviewed THREE items that we’ve never tried at Walt Disney World
- The brownie paw at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery at Animal Kingdom (in fact, I don’t think we’ve ever eaten anything from Kusafiri’s)
- The South African Quinoa salad from Tamu Tamu at Animal Kingdom (almost directly across from Kusafiri)
- The hot italian deli sandwich from Catalina Eddie’s at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (again, I don’t think we’ve ever eaten anything from Catalina Eddie’s)
- And, in the #2013eateachsandwich challenge @earlofsandwich…
- Sarah is eating her way through the list… she writes about the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich (making her total thus far = 4)
- We had a twitter discussion one morning this week (nora was chowing down on sandwich #9), Sarah and Nora decided to add the kids sandwiches to the challenge…

- Earlier this week, we made a special trip to Magic Kingdom to pick up two Dumbo Popcorn Containers for our friend Lisa (here’s an article from the disneyfoodblog)… nora tweeted a photo of the two Dumbos on their inaugural monorail ride…
That’s it for this week, no definite plans – Harry & Sandy and Al & Judy are visiting 🙂
