Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort is a bit short on holiday theming. That is not a bad thing. The resort is always fun to visit and when you are one monorail stop or even better a short stroll from the Grand Floridian with it’s over the top Victorian Christmas, why try to compete? If you are near the Grand – that is where you’ll go for your Christmas “fix”.
Most guests reach the Polynesian via the monorail. When you exit the monorail you enter on the second floor where you are greeted by a swag and moderately-sized Christmas tree.
Downstairs at the back of the lobby is a tree that is set-up for family photos. Again, nothing fancy going on here…
There are some nice touches around the lobby. The Polynesian has beautiful tropical plants year round so it makes sense to add in some evergreens and poinsettias for the holidays.
Where the staff at the Polynesian had the most fun with holiday decorations in 2012 is just to the left of the next photo.
But I’m going to make you wait until tomorrow to see the fun at…
