Chicken Souvlaki – Epcot 2011 Food & Wine Festival

Maybe just looking at the photo below you can figure out what I’m going to say?


Chicken (average store bought stuff) is flavorless.  You can give it any flavor you like.  Plus it cooks quickly, especially if the pieces are small. Greece had a great opportunity to make something memorable… Instead this was dry, dry, dry and flavorless.  I tasted a piece without the tzatziki and it could have been cardboard.  I wonder if cardboard might have had more flavor and moisture content?  This was so overcooked as to be a joke.

The tzatziki was also not as flavorful as I like.  However, we all know that the kiosks turn down the flavors so as not to offend the delicate palate.  Since there was nothing redeeming in the chicken souvlaki I cannot recommend it and with so many choices, I doubt I will even try it again this year.
