Okay, the zapiekanki is an example of memory outpacing actual experience.
We both thought that this was one of our hits from 2012 (ha! not so much)… So we had eagerly awaited a cooler evening during the 2013 Festival when we could get this tasty gem and actually enjoy it. So, on the first cool night in November, we headed over to Epcot and ordered the zapiekanki and an OK beer (love that name!)
First off, I was worried that this wouldn’t be as good as last year’s because it was sitting under a heat lamp (that was pretty ineffective, in other words, our serving wasn’t warm at all… not COLD but not WARM).
I still liked the flavors and I wouldn’t have minded waiting for a fresh, hot serving.
Nick said “wouldn’t get this again this year”
I thought that the ketchup didn’t have much kick this year and that it was much sweeter than in the past.
Like I said, a case of memory being different from actual experience…
Well, what did we think of the O.K. Beer? On this particular evening, we had also sampled the Kona Big Wave Golden Ale (80% of it went into the trash can) and the Cigar City Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale (20% of it went into the trash can)… we drank all of the OK beer… but the best beer of the evening was Guinness (not unusual, maybe even boring, but it was the best)
