I’ll cut right to the chase…
The other Friday night (a week after the big do with a large group wandering around Epcot Food & Wine Festival), Nick and I made our way over to bluezoo to say “hello” to everyone and to enjoy a light dinner sitting in the lounge. I was also really eager to see how well my new iPhone 5S does taking photos in really low light.
We wanted to show you the bluezoo pub menu… New items: pork belly bahn mi, mushroom and fontina flatbread, and fish ‘n’ chips (we’ve had all of these).
I forgot to put the camera on “flash” for the photos of the oysters (even though I’d read before getting the phone that the flash works very, very well)… There were four varieties and we had two of each (that’s eight oysters each). We each had a beer with our oysters (Erin’s recommendations)…
That’s enough of the photos without auto flash option turned on…
This combination is very, very good (even though I usually don’t eat the house made pumpernickel bread – Nick usually eats it for me, I’m slightly allergic to pumpernickel)… I’d highly recommend this dish… it is very consistent and very tasty.
This was a perfect light dinner. The only bad note… Nick asked for plain butter (he wanted to eat my pumpernickel bread with his fish and chips – after all, when we were in England you had bread and butter with your fish and chips (don’t ask me why))… and the butter was very hard and cold. Now, I know that bluezoo doesn’t usually serve plain butter, it’s probably back in the kitchen for cooking not for eating; so, not a bad fail, just an off note.
We had a nice relaxing Friday evening hanging out at the bluezoo lounge. Erin recommended some beer that paired well with our dinner choices. The portions are just about right for us and leave us full and not overstuffed.
I think we’re becoming big fans of beer and oysters (must be our North Carolina coming out :))
