Tokyo Dining Food & Sake Pairing

Last year we did two pairings, Japan’s Food & Sake Pairing (here) and Morocco’s Food & Wine Pairing (here). We enjoyed the event in Japan quite a lot, so we’re repeating it this year; and luckily for us, they’ve changed the menu and the presentation a bit. This was our second of three such pairings

Unibroue Draft Beer at Canada during 2011 Epcot Food & Wine Festival

We first tasted Unibroue beer the last time we ate at Le Cellier in the Canada pavilion. This was at least 3 years ago. We have never really understood all the hoopla surrounding this restaurant. It is ok but it does not deserve all the hype it gets on WDW fan sites and blogs. So

Tuna Poke, Hawaii – Epcot 2011 Food & Wine Festival

We really enjoy our sushi, judging most places by the quality of their tuna. We’ve already talked about the Tuna and Salmon Sensation being served at the Japan booth this year. This was excellent quality fish. So how did the Hawaii both do?

Hawaii is serving Tuna Poke with Seaweed Salad and Lotus Root Chips.

Pork Slider, Hawaii – Epcot 2011 Food & Wine Festival

Culinary Demonstration – Russell Palmer, Hollywood Brown Derby, Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This Culinary Demonstration got off to a weird start, the man in front of us in line had a lot of body odor, luckily, he sat at another table, but nora could still “smell him” and it was really off-putting. Also, the attendants were pointing out “seating options” to guests as they entered the Culinary

La Hacienda de San Angel – Tequila Lunch Pairing

Sharing events with friends is always more fun. Our friends Al and Judy were here for the weekend with Al’s “Big Sis”. So for this lunch we had a fantastic time and got to do more than just focus on the food – we got to share with friends. We’ve already been talking with Al

3D Disney’s Dessert Discovery Party – 2011

Last year, we attended Party for the Senses for the first time. We had briefly considered it in previous years… usually along the lines of “might be fun, we’d need at least one other couple to go with us.” Then we heard about the Wine View Lounge and decided “well, that would mean we aren’t

Eat to the Beat Concert – The Orchestra with former members of ELO

We’ve been intending to attend more Eat to the Beat concerts this year – last year we had quite a few on our planning calendar, but made it to ONE (Kool & The Gang)… given our schedule of culinary demonstrations, we were able to stop in and see The Orchestra recently. Nora

Culinary Demonstration – Bill Clark, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

This was our third demo of the day, our 2nd Culinary Demonstration… When we were seated, we noticed that there was no water on the tables (first time), at 4:59 they begin to bring out pitchers of “fresh” water. Note… God Love ‘Em some of these seasonal cast members are quite long in the tooth
