October 10th, 2011 Introduction from us…
We did this class on Friday and Saturday evenings last year. When bookings became available for this year, we decided to repeat the sessions because we had such a good time last year, we learned a lot, and repetition makes knowledge stick.
Before the session began on Friday evening, we met Joe

October 9th, 2011 Causeway Food – Saturday Night
Tonight, it was a foregone conclusion that the event would have to be inside (due to heavy rains), so tables were set up in the hallways of the Swan’s convention space and most of the alcohol booths (predominantly wine again) were also in the hallways.
The food stations, the band,

October 9th, 2011 Causeway Food – Friday Night
This year, in contrast to last year, the “causeway” actually went down the side of the Swan next to the lake. It seems as though the popularity of the event, both from vendors and from guests, created the need for more space and more booths.

October 8th, 2011 The South Korea booth debuted in 2010 at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Nora and I enjoyed the food so it was an early stop for the 2011 event. We enjoy Asian food and look forward to trying new things. The South Korea booth brings back the same menu for 2011: Lettuce Wrap

October 7th, 2011 Thatcher’s Cordials, Cruzan Rum & Sauza Tequila
This is the first year for mixology seminars and it was a nice touch to include the recipes – like they do with the culinary demonstrations.

October 5th, 2011 This turned out to be more entertaining and informational than it started out to be.
First of all, the seminar got a very late start; we were finally seated at 12:14 for a 12:00 seminar (seminars that only last 45 minutes, so we lost 33% of the seminar time)… it soon became apparent that the

October 2nd, 2011 Our country has seen some really bad weather; especially floods and fires during the summer. Florida has no reason to complain but summer heat, humidity and rain kept on into the official start of fall. Friday September 30th it was still in the 90’s, humid and thunderstorms. But on Saturday October 1st we had a

October 2nd, 2011 On Saturday October 1st, Walt Disney World (WDW) turned 40 years old. We were in first grade when WDW, specifically Magic Kingdom (MK) opened on October 1st 1971. Nora dreamed of coming to WDW when she was a child. As far as I can recall, I never thought about coming when I was a child.

October 1st, 2011 For some reason I try “fish” tacos frequently. Well, I try them as often as I find them. Yet, none compare to what my mind/taste say they should be. There is always some freshness missing. The shrimp tacos at the Mexican Pavilion still did not satisfy.
Nora explained to me that a seafood taco

October 1st, 2011 This demonstration was on 30 September, opening day of the 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The culinary demonstration space has been altered for 2011. It is no longer a stage at the end of an elongated space with tables but is tables spread wide around a stage. If you attend events you’ll understand
