Beer flights during the Flower and Garden Festival and during the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot are a good way to see if you’re going to like a beer enough to expend the calories on a large one. This flight was useful for that purpose – 2 of these were either “blah” or “gross”…
We didn’t care for Beer #1 = Blonde Ale. This was pretty ordinary “yellow american beer” (we learned that phrase from a presenter at a Samuel Adams tasting). Really not worth the calories. It went into the trash can.
And Beer #3 = Florida Avenue Blueberry was “yuck”, “gross”, and “just weird” – first off, we don’t typically like fruit beers (exception: Cranberrry Lambic from Samuel Adams Winter Selection). This also went into the trash can.
Beer #2 = Cotton Mouth Belgian Style Witbier had citrusy hops and was very mouth-drying (ha ha ha! hence the name Cotton Mouth). I thought it was pretty good but liked #4 better. Beer #2 was the one Nick drank.
Beer #4 is a special creation for the Flower and Garden Festival = Feast of Flowers Farmhouse Ale. It was very hoppy, but I’ve been trying IPAs more lately and thought it was pretty good. (I think that our friend Calvin and that Sarah from eatingwdw will both like it).
Frankly, we are very unlikely to stop by here again… we’ll allocate any calories from Florida Fresh to drinking “Cold Snap” seasonal Sam Adams from the Turkey Leg Booth at the America Pavilion.
