We had a rather nice Sunday a couple of weeks ago – it wasn’t March-in-Orlando-nice, but it was better than it has been this winter – Nick told me to pick what we were going to do outside, because there was no way we were going to waste the day by sitting inside <grin>.
I chose…. MINIATURE GOLF AT WINTERSUMMERLAND
This lovely double miniature golf course(s) is located right next to Blizzard Beach (which was closed for refurbishment). Only the Sand Course was open on the day we visited. We enjoyed ourselves quite a bit and want to go back and try the Snow Course at some point in the future.
Nick had the camera and took quite a few photos – not of every single hole – but definitely enough to whet your appetite for a game of miniature golf.

- Santa’s Sleigh pulls the Elf Stream travel trailer holding check-in and check-out for Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course(s)
- View of the Snow side of the entrance building, you may be able to see that half is decorated with snow-cold-weather decorations and the other half with sunshine-beach-weather decorations.
- The rear of Santa’s Elfstream, notice Mickey & Minnie?
- Notice Santa’s license plate and the snow/sand split under the trailer?
- Santa statue at entrance to the two courses.
- Some of Santa’s and the elves’ fishing gear, that’s the first tee for the Snow Course in the background.
- First tee on the Snow Course – the level of detail in the theming is amazing (as always).
- First tee on the Sand Course.
- Close-up detail of the food outside the first tee.
- Extreme close-up of the elf beverages – notice the “Budweiz” beer.
- Second tee on Sand Course – the hole is back behind that far red & white life preserver.
- Elfstream trailer at the second tee. Did you notice the elf snorkling?
- Elf-sized diving board on the second hole.
- Lifeguard stand on the third hole. Guess elf-lifeguards enjoy their tropical cocktails while on duty. Are you noticing that the elves don’t exactly shy away from adult beverages?
- Elfstream trailer at the fourth tee. Cool bumper stickers.
- Fifth tee, the hole is directly in front of Santa’s surfboard.
- Sixth tee on Sand Course; the idea is to send the ball up the ramp and into the center clam as it opens and closes.
- Seventh tee on the Sand Course; if I remember correctly, this was one of the easier ones.
- Sign for eighth tee. Each of them had signs with cute poems, for some reason Nick started taking photos at this one (I think it was the slower group in front of us).
- Eighth Hole is behind the two crooked turrets, the larger castle is the Ninth Hole.
- Ninth Tee on the Sand Course – the idea was to get your ball over the drawbridge while it went up and down, then your ball would shoot out the bottom of the sand mound in a much better lie for the hole.
- Tenth tee – Disney characters make their appearance, as seen in A Christmas Carol.
- Eleventh tee is “Sandy Claus” – Santa snores & you must roll your ball over his big belly for the best shot at par.
- Sandy’s belly isn’t real obvious in this photo – but his adult beverage is!
- Thirteenth Tee on Sand Course; I think this is where I made a hole-in-one.
- Fourteenth tee is the “South Pole” with a twist (sorry for the bad pun).
- Nick’s golf ball takes a ride up the South Pole…
- And shoots out the nozzle very near the hole…
- Fifteenth Tee – you want your ball to do the loop-d-loop through the huge red ribbon bow.
- The remainder of the Sand Course is under shelter.
- Sixteenth hole requires you to putt your ball through the bottom of the merry-go-round.
- We’re legitimately the lowest scores of the day.
- And… we received special certificates from Melissa documenting our achievements.
