Lotus House, a tasting – 2013 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is offering many more food options this year. The booth in China is called “Lotus House” – their menu …

Food:

Beiing-Style Candied Strawberries

Spring Pancake with Grilled Chicken and Green Apple

Pan-fried Vegetable Buns

Beverage:

Peach – Oolong Bubble Tea*

Kung Fun Punch (Vodka and Triple Sec with Mango and Orange Juice)

South Sea Storm (Guava with Light and Dark Rum)

Plum Wine

Tsing Tao Beer

Lychee Aerated Water

Peach Aerated Water

This was our first stop at the Lotus House, we sampled the Spring Pancake… briefly, it was very oily and didn’t have much flavor, most dominant was the black pepper used on the chicken (just as it was during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival last autumn). Maybe we just arrived at an “off” time and got a poor example… regardless, don’t think this is  on our list to try again. We’d give it a 3 out of 10.

Would still like to try the strawberries and the pan-fried vegetable bun…

In addition to the chicken and the green apple (as in Granny Smith, not as in unripe apple)… there were onions, shreds of lettuce, strips of green pepper (which we removed), and crunchy noodles… and there were two sauces, one being Siracha
