Welcome! As you can see that silly Geico commercial hasn’t gotten old yet 🙂
Since our last Hump Day Post (well, it was actually a post on Friday!), we’ve been busy…
- We stopped in at bluezoo on Tuesday September 10th and have our thoughts on TWO new cocktails, a new flatbread that debuts officially on FRIDAY, and I must mention the Chef’s Special… Alaskan Halibut (we now know that we love halibut!)
- We also went to Earl of Sandwich twice last week to eat (& review) the seasonal “Royal Couple” [Pastrami Reuben and Avocado BLT], the first review, of the Pastrami Reuben, is on the blog… the second review of the Avocado BLT will be “published” on Tuesday next week
- And of course, there’s our FlipBoard magazine from Sunday past “Adults Extra WDW Magic 13.09.15“
So, what have we been reading out in the ether this week?
- More about the California Grill’s reopening…
- Len Testa from TouringPlans.com (and “The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World” and the “WDWToday” podcast and on twitter as @lentesta) took a large group from TouringPlans.com to California Grill and they had EVERY ITEM on the menu… overall, they weren’t really amazed (our last dinner at California Grill before refurbishment was much the same) and actually the discussions in the comments section are what’s really interesting
- The Disney Parks Blog has a nice piece about how the “place” that California Grill is in has changed over the 40 years of Walt Disney World
- Passport to Dreams has another very in-depth article – this time looking at Disneyland from the perspective of a local – I found it particularly fascinating because our friends Calvin and Kate had just returned from their first visit to Disneyland (we haven’t been yet) and their impressions and feelings seem to really fit FoxxFur’s contention that Disneyland is very much a LOCAL sort of place as opposed to Disney World which is not-so-much-a-local-place (although we’d beg to differ a little bit, Epcot is our local walking park :))
- And lastly, I found an article that I had bookmarked quite a while back (early August!) – looking at the possible intersection of Pixar and musicals, a really good read
That’s it for today, thanks for reading
