+ 2 (days late)
Well, it’s Friday! and I’m just now getting around to the “weekly” (and I use that word lightly) round-up. Things have been very busy here at ExtraWDWMagic… lots of stuff on FlipBoard, a dinner & drinks at bluezoo (more on that next week), a book signing by Disney Legend Marty Sklar (again, more on that coming soon), 2 more sandwiches for the #2013eateachsandwich challenge (ditto), and lastly, just a whole lot of exercise and being out and about… doesn’t leave a lot of time for me to sit at the computer and blog, but that will be rectified very soon.
Like I said, lots of stuff being added on FlipBoard
- More reviews on our #2013eateachsandwich magazine AND I discovered yesterday that the review of “The Full Montagu” has disappeared into cyberspace somehow, so I’ll be rewriting that one very soon
- Our magazine for the last week included lots of stuff, more than I’ll cover here, but one of our favorites is the photo of the lovely Sandy listening to Yee Ha Bob (goodness gracious, this photo must be at least 5 years old!)
- And there’s other stuff going on in the background – like a magazine for Sunday and more stuff for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Magazine (coming soon)
And then there’s our blogging this week, Nick has been very busy with photo essays (well, they’re more than that, but I don’t know what else to call them) and I’m still yammering on about food…
- The Dream Cars Weekend shared the date with Mustangs at the MickYard (and man, let me tell you… it was hot hot hot! at the racetrack in Magic Kingdom’s Parking Lot) and other car stuff (thankfully, most of it was indoors)
- #2013eateachsandwich = Just4Kids Turkey and Swiss Cheese Sandwich… kinda plain and kinda white
From the ether…
- Well, California Grill reopened to the general public on Monday and that means that the media events (did you know that bloggers are “media”?) were late last week and last weekend. Here’s what some of them were saying…
- The Disney Blog (not an official Disney Blog) talks about the fireworks viewing from the reimagined location
- The Disney Food Blog (not an official Disney Blog either) gives us a look at the new space (food reviews coming later)
- @chadlobner (General Manager at bluezoo) tweeted an article about Orlando for Grown-Ups, we were happy to see that two of our favorite spots were on the list (now we’re just hoping that they don’t become TOO popular, if they do, the cool kids might not let us hang out there): bluezoo and La Cava Del Tequila
- I really enjoyed this story from Jambo Everyone (@jamboeveryone) about the backstory behind Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama… Oddly enough, whenever we go to Animal Kingdom with Big Al & Judy and Harry & Sandy, we always end up there (well, Big Al is a sucker for carnival type games!)
- And last but not least, Sarah at Eating WDW has two review that piqued my interest… BOTH CURRY (I’ll bet they’re not as good as the Bindi Badgee we had in Newcastle this summer :))
- The new currywurst at Sommerfest in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot
- The new roasted curry vegetable salad found at the Contempo Cafe inside the Contemporary Resort
Well, that’s it for now! Back to doing the work that helps pay the bills! See you soon, don’t forget to check out our new magazine on Sunday… I’ll be tweeting a link to it (are you following us on twitter?)
