Kris and Kevin came to visit and to go to the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic with us (here, here, here)… Of course, while they were here, we had to go to bluezoo for dinner! (when they come back at Thanksgiving, we plan to go again!)
We don’t have photos of all the food, I was trying out my new iPhone 5S (btw, it takes great photos but not always when I’m the one wielding it!)… But as always, I thought we’d share the photos with you; especially since the dishes are new to our blog…

Elkhorn (Canada) – we didn’t think this oyster had enough brine, it was a bit weak compared to the others

Komotos (California) – these were the same oysters we had at the All Things Sake! class, they were cream and very good

Kris ordered the garganelli (with brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and scallops), she thought it was quite good (there’s nothing wrong with bluezoo’s garganelli, it’s just that we’ve had it rather often in the last year or so)

We split the Chef’s Creation – salmon (with perfectly crisped skin), bamboo risotto (quite tasty), kale, lobster mushrooms (yum!), and blueberry ver just – – very well balanced dish, quite tasty
A few details on the new chocolate dessert (BTW Kris and Kevin split the three way apple dessert)…
- upper left = chocolate meringue and chocolate ice cream
- the three bits that look like ocean coral are “air cake”
- the dark chocolate quenelle in the upper right is chocolate mousse… but that doesn’t do it justice, it’s dark chocolate mousse on steroids… OMG it’s delicious, especially if you don’t like SWEET desserts
- there are also candied hazelnuts and some sort of chocolate cream buttons AND we got a sort of a hidden mickey with the chocolate syrup
This is our new favorite dessert at bluezoo, dethroning the banofee pie…
hope you enjoyed!
