{"id":2807,"date":"2011-05-23T13:45:26","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T17:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.extrawdwmagic.com\/?p=2807"},"modified":"2011-05-23T13:45:26","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T17:45:26","slug":"2011-epcot-flower-and-garden-festival-entrance-topiary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/extrawdwmagic.com\/?p=2807","title":{"rendered":"2011 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, Entrance Topiary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is Disney doing? \u00a0Did you see the topiary at the entrance to the festival this year? \u00a0Do you remember a couple of years back how awesome the pirate ship with Peter Pan, Captain Hook, et al was? \u00a0What about the one where the Fab 5 are at the beach &#8211; a theme which carried on with other topiaries around the park. \u00a0There probably is supposed to be a theme each year \u00a0&#8211; this year must be promote our movies and DVDs. (Actually the 2011 theme was &#8220;Where Epcot Springs to Life&#8221; &#8211; duh, it is a flower and garden show).<\/p>\n<p>Toy Story 3 (TS3) characters; Woody, Buzz and Lots-O&#8217;-Huggin&#8217; Bear (Lotso) were featured at the entrance to Epcot this year. \u00a0Oh yeah, there is also a beach ball that is a few feet round. \u00a0Now TS3 was a good movie but we didn&#8217;t particularly like Lotso. \u00a0Yes he was the villain but still we were not impressed &#8211; probably because the bad guy had a southern accent and no one else did. \u00a0So why make Lotso the center piece and put him on a platform? \u00a0I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p>One thing to the imagineers\/gardeners credit &#8211; the strawberry &#8220;Nestle Quick&#8221; smell they were pumping out fit nicely with Lotso (hopefully you know the reason). \u00a0Funny though most people I overheard who even noticed the smell had no idea what it was &#8211; flowers in the display maybe?
