They&#8217;ve always smelled amazing, like pizzas used to smell when we were kids. So, today we were having a small &#8220;ignore the diet&#8221; moment and we ordered a pepperoni pizza.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14869 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1.jpg\" alt=\"#splitsville pepperoni pizza 05MAY2014 - 1\" width=\"640\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1-150x117.jpg 150w, https:\/\/extrawdwmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/splitsville-pepperoni-pizza-05MAY2014-1-400x312.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>Looks pretty good. The smell wasn&#8217;t as amazing as we expected, but what the hey! It&#8217;s pizza (which we rarely eat these days even though it was a very large component of our diets in high school and college!).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The crust became very tough as the pizza cooled &#8211; it took a lot of chewing.<\/li>\n<li>The sauce was nothing but tomato, no herbs, no garlic, no pizzaz at all (well, there was a salt component).<\/li>\n<li>The pepperoni tasted like they used to when we were kids (in other words, this was a nice spicy pepperoni with some grease\/fat in it).<\/li>\n<li>The cheese was just kind of there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay, so we weren&#8217;t mightily impressed, in fact, we weren&#8217;t impressed at all.
