This experience took place on March 13, 2014<\/em><\/p>\n

We kept a sip or two of the Bodegas Zerran from our earlier sampling of the Mixed Grill<\/a>. Abdou (Food & Beverage Manager for the Morocco Pavilion) had stopped by and talked to us some about the various wines they’re offering at Spice Road Table… I ordered a glass of the Marques de Caceres Roja and Nick ordered an Aris Lager (Greece)… we compared our list top three choices food-wise and found that we both had the Spicy Garlic Shrimp on our lists… So, that’s what we decided to eat.<\/p>\n

Nick didn’t like this as much as the Mythos without food, but it may be better with food<\/p><\/div>\n

This was clearly a lager in flavor and texture. However, the smell was a bit “chemical”…<\/p>\n

The color of the Marques de Caceres Roja was a much deeper color than the Bodegas Zerran. The nose was “jammy”. Nick thought that it was a bit drier than the Zerran, but more cabernet in flavor. We discovered that I preferred the Caceres Roja alone and with food while Nick preferred the Zerran without food and the Caceres Roja with the shrimp.<\/p>\n

Shrimp cooked perfectly (an unusual finding at nearly any dining establishment, not just at Disney World), quite tender with a bit of a snap when you bit into them<\/p><\/div>\n

Nick said that he thought that the shrimp might be his favorite so far, the oil seems to be infused with lemon<\/p><\/div>\n

I really liked these, we need to compare them to the mussels again… the sauce on these is like a luscious pot likker – I think we could have literally licked the plate clean<\/p><\/div>\n

instead, we settled for scrubbing it clean with bits of bread – we didn’t leave anything in the clay dish…<\/p><\/div>\n

The Marques de Caceres Roja was an excellent pairing with the shrimp – we’ve said it before an we’re sure to say it again, trust the pairings at Spice Road Table<\/p>\n
