Yuletide Fantasy Tour 2012 – Our Review

We had lovely weather last Monday for the very first Holiday Tour of the 2012 Christmas/Holiday Season at Walt Disney World.

Although we weren’t terribly keen on repeating this tour after our excursion in 2010 (here), we decided to give it another try.

We were tickled when we saw Monica (she was one of our

Yuletide Fantasy Tour 2012

Taking a tour early this morning – Yuletide Fantasy! The holidays start in earnest …

We took this tour two years ago (here); we had some criticisms and we’ll focus on changes when we blog about this year’s Yuletide Fantasy tour.

God smiled…

Our country has seen some really bad weather; especially floods and fires during the summer. Florida has no reason to complain but summer heat, humidity and rain kept on into the official start of fall. Friday September 30th it was still in the 90’s, humid and thunderstorms. But on Saturday October 1st we had a

Walt Disney World is 40

On Saturday October 1st, Walt Disney World (WDW) turned 40 years old. We were in first grade when WDW, specifically Magic Kingdom (MK) opened on October 1st 1971. Nora dreamed of coming to WDW when she was a child. As far as I can recall, I never thought about coming when I was a child.

Disney’s Holiday D-Lights Tour Review – 2010

In addition to the Yuletide Fantasy Tour (backstage, review here), we went on the Holiday D-Lights Tour. This is a “new” tour, offered for the first time in 2009… as such, we weren’t at all sure of what would be happening or if we would enjoy it a little bit or a whole lot. We

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

The major components of this party that we were interested in were trick-or-treating, Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade, Happy HalloWishes: Grim Grinning Ghosts Come Out to Socialize, hopefully visiting a few attractions, and seeing if there was anything special going on at the Haunted Mansion. As two adults without kids, the character dance parties and the

Random Notes from Backstage Magic Tour

(originally posted on FrugalDinks May.19.2010)

I was cleaning out my bag last night & ran across some notes

(granted, they’re skimpy notes by my usual standards, but there wasn’t a lot of opportunity to take my usual voluminous tomes)

Electrical Energy – WDW has three power plants & they must buy more power from

Our Backstage Magic Tour – Part 2

(originally posted on FrugalDinks May.14.2010)

Now, back to the Backstage Magic Tour.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The first thing we noticed as we drove backstage on the big cruise bus – backstage is “finished” – it looks like a hollywood studio – with good reason, it used to be a working studio.

Our first stop

Our Backstage Magic Tour – Part 1

(originally posted on FrugalDinks May.12.2010)

Yesterday, we took the Backstage Magic Tour; this tour was focused on the four WDW theme parks and provided a glimpse of what goes on backstage to create the magic we all enjoy.

Right up front, while we enjoyed the tour – we’re big readers, I’m a particularly avid
